Back to "normal", For Us Anyway
Heading into 2026 was a blur. We left 2025 with James in hospital, near death. An entering infection that ravaged his body causing severe dehydration and all the complications.
The most frightening part of James's hospitalization was the hospitalist that wanted James to die, and the first critical care facility he was sent to for recovery. I am absolutely horrified by the Healthcare community. My fear has nothing to do with financial concerns but the attitude of the medical staff that we encountered.
The cardiologist, oncology staff, regular gp, urology, and nursing staff were excellent. Thospitalist insisted that James should die and sent him into aftercare with an orange DNR bracelet, which was promptly removed by me.
It's already April. We are at home. This week is the last week of James's home health therapy visits. We're good.
